Siege and Storm (The Grisha, #2)Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Now... cough... to get things started, let the sexy Ken warned ye, SPOILERS ROAMING FREE DOWN BELOW.

Don't say I didn't warn you! Totally not gonna put spoilers tag down below.

Okay now let's start, shall we?

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD MY FEELSS MY FEELSSSSS. YES THOSE TWO GIFS ARE WHAT I AM FEELING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE BOOK AND UNTIL I HAVE FINISHED IT.

I don't really know how to describe Leigh Bardugo's brilliance in writing. I can't find enough words to do it justice but UNFFF.

The Plot
Need I to say more? Since Shadow and Bone, I've already noticed this gem. Siege and Storm is, in every way, better, more complex, and poignant. The plot is carefully plotted since the start, and EGAD THOSE TWISTS. MY HEART WAS CRUSHED TO PIECES.

And why has no one talked about the excerpt about what happened to Alina in the end of the book. HOLY-- DID SHE JUST TURNED EVIL? I LIKE. I LIKE AND I HOPE IT STAYS THAT WAY AT THE START OF Ruin and Rising.

The Writing

LEIGH BARDUGO GIVE ME YOUR BRAIN, NOW.

The Characters
Aline Starkov became a much much stronger heroine. She's got a lot to handle in her hands, and she had to lose her past self in the process. The proccess in which she has to lose her bond with Mal. It's terribly heartbreaking, but again, poignant and realistic. You can see the pain and the hardship both had to go through.

Cough anyways, Sturmhond, Wolf of the Waves, will you propose to me instead?

I feel like a pathetic bitch that can't choose any guy for good. I AM TORN BETWEEN DARKLING AND STURMHOND. And yes, despite of Darkling's sinister-yy I am still hanging on that Darkling ship. From the very first book until the end of this second book. And when he kept getting rejected, my heart was torn for him. I think I am masochistic, but oh well, I can't resist Darkling's charms. You can come to my bed anytime, Darkling.

And I heard that there's gonna be the 4th guy on the third book, GOOD GOD WHY MUST YOU TEST ME SO?

Not only the main characters, the secondary characters are also well developed and have stories of their own. I am as hell interested in Tamar and Tolya's story and how they became part of the cult.

Anyways, overall, Siege and Storm is like a book that pulls you, drags you right into the world of Grisha. It is like you are part of the world, a watcher of the world. When Alina sees the stars, I felt like I could see the stars because the world is that complex, rich, and believable. That, my friend, is how amazing Bardugo's skills as a writer. Now I can keep singing praises, but then it would be a very redundant review, not that it already isn't. But I'd suggest you to get your ass off that chair and buy the damn book. You might want the hard copy, much better.

5 out of 5 stars.
